Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we process when you buy and use Snake for Claude Code, and your rights under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We have deliberately designed the Product to collect as little data as possible.

2.What we collect

• Your email address — collected by Stripe at checkout. We use it to derive your license key and to provide support.
• Your purchase record — your email and purchase date are held in your Stripe customer record. We do not run a separate database; we re-derive your license key from your email on demand (including to re-send it if you lose it).
• Payment data — your card details are collected and processed entirely by Stripe. We never see or store them.

We do not collect analytics, we do not create user accounts, we do not use advertising cookies, and the Product does not send your code or your prompts anywhere. The extension and CLI run entirely on your machine.

3.Local data on your device

To function, the Product stores small files locally, on your computer only:

• your license key (in VS Code Secret Storage, or in ~/.claude-snake-license for the CLI);
• a task-state file (~/.claude-snake-state) and, with your consent, hook entries added to ~/.claude/settings.json so the game can open and close automatically.

These never leave your device and are not transmitted to us.

4.Legal basis

We process your email on the basis of performance of a contract (delivering the license you purchased) and our legitimate interest in providing support and preventing abuse.

5.Sharing

We share data only with the processors strictly necessary to operate the service:

• Stripe, Inc. — payment processing (privacy policy);
• Vercel Inc. — hosting of this website (privacy policy).

We never sell your personal data.

6.Retention

Your purchase record (email and purchase date) is retained by Stripe as long as necessary to provide support and to comply with our legal and accounting obligations (up to 10 years for invoicing records under French law). You may request deletion of your personal data at any time, subject to those legal retention obligations.

7.Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object to the processing of, and port your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, email info@snakeforclaude.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority (in France, the CNIL).

8.International transfers

Our processors (Stripe, Vercel) may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where they do, they rely on appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

9.Children

The Product is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

10.Changes

We may update this Policy. The current version is always the one published on this page, identified by the "Last updated" date above.
